URGENT CALL TO ACTION! Flood the EAC Comment Line to counter MAGA’s campaign.

DEADLINE MIDNIGHT APRIL 23, 2025

WE NEED TO COUNTER THE RIGHT WING MAGA PLAN to flood the EAC Comment line (Election Assistance Commission). Right wing groups are planning to flood the EAC Standards Board with public comment ahead of its annual meeting on Thursday, April 24. At this meeting the EAC Standards Board will be discussing whether the EAC should amend the national MAIL VOTER REGISTRATION FORM to require documentary proof of citizenship, in accordance with President Trumps recent Executive Order.

THE EAC Standard's Board is accepting public comment until midnight tonight, April 23, 2025 on this issue and its impact on the public. Both individuals and organizations can submit comments at this link: https://www.regulations.gov/commenton/EAC_FRDOC_0001-0247

The EAC Standards Board passes resolutions advising the EAC on best practices and is responsible for maintaining the national mail voter registration form. There will be legal and academic comments made, but most helpful from your network would be people saying how it would impact them directly.

FOR CONTEXT: If this goes into effect, it would mean the only way to register to vote using the federal registration form would be with a passport, Real ID proving citizenship, government ID proving citizenship (unclear what would qualify) or military ID.

Birth certificates, naturalization forms, etc do not count under the Executive Order.
